Parkside Arts Council "Taking a Break"

Less than a year ago, Parkside Arts Council decided to the close the doors of their downtown Bellaire Gallery due to financial and volunteer support. Over the last year, we have taken a break as a board, giving us time to regroup. If you have an interest in supporting and developing arts in Antrim County and would like to be an active member of the board, please contact Rachel Krino, to find out more.

Parkside Openings: Michigan Fish Species, Watercolors by Dani Davis

Michigan Fish Species, Watercolors by Dani Davis

July 3, 2014 – 6 – 8 p.m. – Parkside Openings – Featuring artist Dani Davis
Show: July 3 -27, 2014

As an artist, she questions what role she takes in society and am persistently drawn back to the importance of preserving nature. Her  process recalls the early days of natural history and taxonomy when people were observing with curiosity and marveling at natural beauty. In Northern Michigan, Dani looks to nature for inspiration. Most often she finds it below the surface of a beautiful body of water, still, sparkling, suspended in crystal clear water. Most recently Dani completed an apprenticeship with Chad Pastotnik at Deep Wood Press and her work has been shown in Seattle, WA; Ann Arbor, MI; Detroit, MI; Glasgow, Scotland.
