WATERCOLOR THEORY
SECONDARY COLORS result from the mixing equal parts of two primary colors.
a TERTIARY COLOR is made by mixing equal parts of one PRIMARY COLOR and one SECONDARY COLOR.
COMPLEMENTARY COLORS are opposite of each other on the COLOR WHEEL. When a pair is mixed or combined, a dull color (such as brown or gray) is produced.
WARM COLORS are vivid and bold in nature. Picture bonfires, sunburns and volcanoes!
COOL COLORS are calm and soothing in nature. Picture Lake Michigan, fresh cut grass and snowy mountains!
